The Feeling of Unworthiness

Posted by FirstLadywendy Marston on October 22, 2012 at 5:45 PM Comments comments (0)

:)The Feeling of Unworthiness in His Presence Sometimes we realize God’s awesomeness and we “feel” unworthy to be in His Presence or to go to Him, due to His true love and character. The truth is that when we become His dear children through Jesus Christ, we are made worthy and restored to Him. God desires us to do more than just ask Jesus Christ into our heart and become converted. We are to continue in an ongoing relationship with Him. Even in maintaining our relationship with Him, He knows that we need His help and He is faithful to us by supplying it!

This is not a come to Him “one time” deal! He desires for us to grow closer to Him, getting to know Him through an ongoing and continuous basis. As we mature and grow in Him many things in our lives will be seen for what they truly are. Remember, God already knew that those things were in your life before you chose to give your life to Him, that is also how much He loves each of us! Our Heavenly Father wants to reveal things to us so that we can see the lies that we have been told and believe. He wants us see past the lies of the world and the enemy we have believed and to be set free in areas of our lives where we are deceived (believe a lie and thinking we are okay or “good” or “bad” opposed to the Truth that we are simply His children and need to come/go home into His Arms!).

Faith

It's not our senses which give us faith, but the Spirit through the Word of God, who then lights up and directs our senses and our reasoning. It's not how strong your faith is, but it's who the faith is in. We can't have a right faith by anything we do, but only what is given to us by the Holy Spirit.God's track record of being faithful to us can lead us to being faithful to God. God's stubborn, and doesn't give up on us or give in to us. It's hard to win the trust of folks who've been betrayed and manipulated as often as today's people. But God's way of doing things -- God's character and stick-to-it love -- is how real trust is built and how surreal cynicism is killed. It is a slowly-built response to true character, and not something one 'chooses' like clothing or brand of cola. It's like, 'how could you not choose to trust someone so worthy of trust?'

Faith is caught like a disease, not taught like a subject. It grasps us, shapes our passions, travels all over our systems, and redefines who we are. In that way, faith becomes truly our own. We open up to it in hope because the Spirit works through other people who live their faith honestly and bear its message to those who haven't grasped it yet. It is done and shown in concrete ways of daily living, and in 'moments of truth' where matters of faith most clearly make the key, mission-critical difference.

Excerpts from All about Prayer

How to pray to God - What does the Bible say?

Jesus shares some tremendous insight regarding how to pray to God in Matthew 6:5-13.

“And now about prayer. When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I assure you, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father secretly. Then your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

“When you pray, don't babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think prayers are answered only by repeating words over and over again. Don't be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. Give us our food for today, and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

In the above verses, Jesus shares how not to pray.

Verse 5: We are to pray in secret, not the way people did in His day -- praying out loud publicly, primarily to just be seen, and heard.Verse 6: Jesus asks us to go to a private place since our Heavenly Father already knows what we are going to pray about.Verse 7: Jesus tells us not to ramble on and on, as people of other religions do, or be repetitious with words. God, our heavenly Father, would have us be specific about our prayer. Verse 8: Jesus reiterates that the believer is not to pray repetitiously like the heathen.Next, Jesus, teaches us how to pray.Verse 9: Jesus says we should give honor to God and His name. Verse 10: We are to pray for His Kingdom to come, and for His will to be done, that there would be a heavenly or godly presence here on earth. Verse 11: We are to pray for daily provision. Verse 12: We are to pray and ask for forgiveness for our sins, and for others who have wronged us. Verse 13: We are to pray and ask God to keep us from being tempted, and to deliver us from Satan and his power.

Limp to your Blessings in this Season of Transition

Limp to Your Blessing in this Season of Transistion.by Pator Enos Khamala on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:26pm We are entering into the  the year where the season begins to change. The weather begins to cool down and the transition to prepare for the Fall season begins to take place. This is the month of “shifting”. Hurricanes, tornadoes, thunder storms, and floods. Foreclosures, lay-offs, buy-outs, acquisitions and bankruptcies, are all signs of a major transition taking place that has the potential to turn our lives upside down.

Today, many of your personal lives are in this same state; you are right in the middle of a transition. You have been through hell just to get to this place of transition. In the book of the Genesis, Jacob had a spiritual encounter that literally changed his life. The bible says that after he had taken his family and servants over the ford of the Jabok, and sent over his belongings, he was left alone. Jacob wrestled with a Man, all night long. Jacob was determined not to give-up. When the Man saw that He could not prevail, He touched the socket of his hip. Jacob’s hip was out of joint. Although, full of pain, Jacob continued to fight. When the morning came, the Man said, “Let me go”. Jacob responded, “I will not let You go unless you bless me”. It was at this time that Jacob’s name was changed to Israel and God blessed him at his point of transition.

I want to speak to those who have been fighting since January just to bring stability to your life. You have been fighting just get your family over the ford of Jabok. Everything has been a fight. You have fought so long until you are spiritually wounded. Your spirit is tired of fighting. This fight has literally taken the life out of you. Your spiritual hip is out of socket and you are now walking with a limp. Your prayer life has a limp, your fast life has a limp, your finances have a limp, your marriage has a limp, your businesses have a limp and your relationships have a limp. Everything in your life is wounded and now you have a decision to make. Do you let go or keep fighting? So many of you are at a point of quitting, but the Holy Ghost stopped by to tell you that you are about to limp your way to a blessing.

What you must understand is that battle is spiritual. God is using your brokenness to transition you into your blessing. You have been left alone to fight this battle by yourself. You have kept your struggle away from your kids, and away from your family. Those so-called friends have now found others to victimize and use. You don’t have anywhere to go or anyone to turn to, but don’t let go. The morning is coming and the battle is about to end. Through every tear, every broken heart, and every disappointment, you were proving yourself to God. This is your hour of transition and God is getting ready to “SHIFT” you to the next dimension in your life. Jacob was determined not to let the Angel go unless He blessed him. I am speaking to the Jacob in you today, hold on until God blesses you. You may be too weak to fight, but just hold on. You may not have the strength to swing, but hold on. If you just hold on to God and don’t let go, He will shift your life overnight. Somebody better grab that right now! A shift is about to happen. God is about to change your name from VICTIM to VICTOR! The bible says that Jacob was blessed right where he was. See, you thought you had to move, you thought you had to change cities, you thought you had to physically move in order to fulfill God’s purpose for your life, but I hear the Holy Spirit saying that He is going to bless you right where you are. Everybody around you can see your struggle, God is saying now everyone will see your blessing. You struggled openly and now He is going to bless you openly. Somebody should be shouting right now! I feel this word for myself this evening.

This is your season for transition. Don’t lose hope now. I know things have been tough. I know you thought you would be further along by now. I know you had your faith on some things and they haven’t come to pass yet. But, hold on, help is on the way! This is your finest hour. You cried your last tear, yesterday. It ain’t over until God says that it’s over. God is opening doors right now, that no man can shut. He is already dealing with your supervisor about your promotion. He has already dispatched angels to go before you to present that new business idea to your future partners. Even in this economic drought where multi-million dollar companies are folding, God is saying that those who love Him, those who trust Him will experience supernatural favor in their businesses, on their jobs and in their families. The wealth of the wicked is laid-up for the just. What is happening now to many of the big companies is a direct correlation to their under-handed deals, misrepresented profits and cut-throat operations. They have been getting rich off of the backs of working class people for years, now it is God’s time to show-up on behalf of His people. This isn’t a surprise to God. He knew this day was coming. He is using this situation to reveal to you that He is Jehovah-Jireh, your provider! He is bigger than the stock-market, bigger than the DOW and the S&P; He is bigger than Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. His name is above every name. It’s above debt, lay-off, foreclosure, repossession, lack, and poverty. It’s time for you to realize you serve a God who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that you can ask or think. There is nothing too hard for God!

I come to encourage you today, keep limping. Just because you have a limp doesn’t mean that you have to quit. A disability doesn’t mean you’re disabled. You have the power of God on the inside of you. Whether you have to limp, crawl, or drag yourself, don’t quit because a new day is coming. It only takes one word from God to shift your entire life. It only takes one move of God to take your family from not enough to more than enough

The Spirit Is Sent into the Earth

THOUGHT:

God's presence is made available to all places on earth through the Holy Spirit. If we pause and think of the magnitude of this simple statement, we are dumbfounded. Gather in the implications of this thought. God's presence is available everywhere to everyone --

billions of people, untold millions of square miles, across an incredible diversity of races, cultures, peoples, and nations. In realizing our insignificance in the whole of the universe, we are dumbstruck by a realization of God's indescribable vastness and

also his most loving intentions demonstrated through the sacrifice of Jesus. Every part of the earth is the habitation of the Holy One through the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Why is God Silent?

Scripture Reference: Psalm 109:1-13 John 7:17

Read Psalm 109:1-13

What do you do when heaven is silent? What do you do when you cry out to God and there is no answer, or at least you can't hear it? This happened to David. He kept crying out to God, "Do not keep silent, O God of my praise!" (v. 1). David was being attacked by the wicked--a frequent occurrence in his life. You must remember that when he prayed these prayers of judgment (v. 13), he was not seeking personal revenge. No, he was praying as God's king over Israel. David wanted to see the wicked judged because they were attacking the people of God, the ones from whom God's Word and His Son would come.

Why is God silent at times? It may be because we aren't listening or we don't want to listen. Evangelist Billy Sunday used to say that a sinner can't find God for the same reason a criminal can't find a policeman--he's not looking. Sin makes us turn a deaf ear to God. When Adam and Eve heard the voice of God in the Garden of Eden, they ran and hid. Children often do that when they disobey.

Sometimes God is silent because we aren't ready for the message. He wants to talk to us about something, but we aren't ready. We have to go through refining trials to make us ready to listen.

God is sometimes silent because He knows we aren't willing to obey. He is always ready to show us His will, but He shows His will only to those who really want to do it. Jesus said in John 7:17, "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine." Obedient people always hear the voice of God.

Finally, sometimes God is silent that He might test us--to teach us the importance of silence, the importance of waiting on Him. Waiting helps remind us of God's sovereignty.

Chariots to Carry

Even to your old age, I am He; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you; I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

--ISAIAH 46:4

The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels; the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

--PSALMS 68:17

I HAVE not a shadow of doubt that if all our eyes could be opened today, we should see our homes, and our places of business, and the streets we traverse, filled with the "chariots of God." There is no need for any one of us to walk for lack of chariots. That cross inmate of your household, who has hitherto made life a burden to you, and who has been the Juggernaut car to crush your soul into the dust, may henceforth be a glorious chariot to carry you to the heights of heavenly patience and long-suffering. That misunderstanding, that mortification, that unkindness, that disappointment, that loss, that defeat,--all these are chariots waiting to carry you to the very heights of victory you have so longed to reach. Mount into them, then, with thankful hearts, and lose sight of all second causes in the shining of His love who will carry you in His arms safely and triumphantly over it all.

CHOICES

Posted by Evangelist Lorna on September 21, 2010 at 4:35 AM Comments comments (0)

I stand upon the threshold of a brand new, spotless, day

And ponder all the choices that surround me as I pray.

Because of my redemption and my gift from God above,

Today I'm free to choose and I've decided I'll choose LOVE.

For no occasion justifies my hate or bitterness,

And love can cure a multitude of ills that cause distress.

Today, I'll choose to dwell in PEACE and quickly will forgive Imagined hurts and wrongful acts, so I might fully live.

I'll choose to act with PATIENCE, as I go about my day,

And, even though the wait be long, I'll use that time to pray.I'll choose to show true KINDNESS to each person that I see And pray that they will see the love of Christ alive in me.

Today, I'm choosing FAITHFULNESS to promises I make

And I will be trustworthy, and the truth I'll not forsake.

My choice is also GOODNESS and I'll strive for honesty,

In every action that I take, with true humility.

Today, my choice is GENTLENESS in every action done,

So I'll have no regrets to feel at setting of the sun.

I'll strive, today, for SELF-CONTROL in thought, and word, and deed ~

And choose the pure and noble things on which my soul can feed. If I have been successful with the choices I have made And sleep tonight with conscience free, secure, and unafraid ...

I'll praise my precious Lord, above, Who gives abundantly His peace (that money cannot buy) and love beyond degree.

But, if I fail to live, today, the way I know I should

And find I've chosen what is wrong, instead of what is good ... In true repentance, I will bow before my Savior's feet And I'll find grace and His forgiveness at the Mercy Seat.
