Without faith it is impossible to please

Him, for he who comes to God must

believe that He is, and that He is a

rewarder of those who diligently seek

Him.

( Hebrews 11:6 *NKJV )

God rewards us with blessings that continue to please us,so we should do our best to please God as well! After all then,"Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed

shall you be in the country.

( Deuteronomy 28:3 )

Now we can do that by obeying His Commandments

and by loving our neighbor's as ourselves. For Jesus

Christ said; "'You shall love the Lord your God

with all your heart, with all your soul, and

with all your mind.'* This is the first and great

commandment. And the second is like it:

'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

On these two commandments hang all the

Law and the Prophets." ( Matthew 22:39-40 )

So friend, do your best to live by God's

Commandments, and share your love with others so;

that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully

pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good

work and increasing in the knowledge of

God, For when you do, His blessings will flow

abundantly to you! After all it is written that;

When a man's ways please the Lord, He makes

even his enemies to be at peace with him.

( Colossians 1:10 ) ( Proverbs 16:7 )

Amidst the Circumstances

The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

--PHILIPPIANS 4:7

I TAKE Thee for my Peace, O Lord,

My heart to keep and fill;

Thine own great calm, amid earth's storms,

Shall keep me always still,

And as Thy Kingdom doth increase,

So shall Thine everdeepening peace.

--ANNIE W. MARSTON

REMEMBER this, busy and burdened disciple; man or woman tried by uncertain health; immersed in secular duties; forced to a life of almost ceaseless publicity. Here is written an assurance, a guarantee, that not at holy times and welcome intervals only, not only in the dust of death, but in the dust of life, there is prepared for you the peace of God, able to keep your hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. It is found in Him, it is cultivated by intercourse with Him. It is "the secret of His presence." Amidst the circumstances of your life, which are the expression of His will, He can maintain it, He can keep you in it. Nay, it is not passive; it "shall keep" you, alive, and loving, and practical, and ready at His call.

Love thy neighbour

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Matthew 22:37-40

And the second is like, namely this,

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

There is none other commandment greater than these.

Mark 12:31

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Luke 10:27

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for

by so doing some people have entertained

angels without knowing it.

( Hebrews 13:2 *NIV )

One of the functions of angels is to watch over God's Children

here on Earth. For it is written: For He shall give His

angels charge over you, To keep you in all your

ways After all: Are not all angels ministering spirits

sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

( Psalms 91:11 ) ( Hebrews 1:14 )

Now let me ask you this, have you ever met an angel? Well,

I bet you have! An angel doesn't have to be a spiritual being,

sometimes they are human beings just like you and me.

Further, when you think about it, we all have encountered

another person who has been just like an angel to us. A person

who has reached out to help, comfort and guide us in times of

need. The World is full of these human angels! I'll even bet that

someone has even called you an angel at one time or another!

So, the next time you encounter a person in

need, reach out and be an angel to them! For it is Jesus said:

'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of

the least of these brothers of mine, you did for

me.' Amen ( Matthew 25:40 )

Fashioned In The Fire

"Unto you it is given . . .to suffer" (Phil. 1:29).

God keeps a costly school. Many of its lessons are spelled out through tears. Richard Baxter said, "O God, I thank Thee for a bodily discipline of eight and fifty years"; and he is not the only man who has turned a trouble into triumph.

This school of our Heavenly Father will soon close for us; the term time is shortening every day. Let us not shrink from a hard lesson or wince under any rod of chastisement. The richer will be the crown, and the sweeter will be Heaven, if we endure cheerfully to the end and graduate in glory.--Theodore L. Cuyler

The finest china in the world is burned at least three times, some of it more than three times. Dresden china is always burned three times. Why does it go through that intense fire? Once ought to be enough; twice ought to be enough. No, three times are necessary to burn that china so that the gold and the crimson are brought out more beautiful and then fastened there to stay.

We are fashioned after the same principle in human life. Our trials are burned into us once, twice, thrice; and by God's grace these beautiful colors are there and they are there to stay forever.--Cortland Myers

A Talk With God

In the quiet stillness of dawn, I feel the Holy Presence of God.  He speaks to me of many things:  Love, Peace, Happiness, Joy.  All these things that I can have only through His Goddness and Mercy.

He allows me to speak back to Him: I ask Him to hold me in His Arms, and not let me go. I ask Him to take away any fear that may be in me, because His Perfect Love Cast out all fear.  I want to bein, and stay in His Perfect Love and Will, all the days of my life. I want to be in His Peace; His Perfect peace that surpasses all understanding.

I speak to Him of my loved ones that have gone on and He comforts me.  He tells me He is My Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, Even My Children. He is my More Than Enough.

The Plumb Line

Bill Burns -- August 30, 2010:

I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying, take up the measuring rod. Apply the plumb line and the standard of truth to your own lives. Before you evaluate the things that are coming upon the earth apply My measuring rod to your own lives. Surely I shall show you that which is out of order, that which is not plumb, that which needs to have correction brought to it, for you are living in these times when judgment must begin at the house of the Lord before it comes upon the whole of the earth. So knowing that, the Lord says, rise and measure. Measure your life, your thoughts, your motives. Examine yourself to see that you are in faith and that you have established the Lord of Glory as your first priority. Examine yourself to see if you are living the example of Christ in the earth. Examine yourself today to see if you are believing Me with a whole heart and to see if your faith is little or big. Do all of this examination with absolute confidence that I will bring you to the point of perfection, for I shall indeed finish the work I have begun in you. Rise up and do not stay where you are, but come to Me with boldness, faith and the knowledge that I am for you and am with you, says the Lord.

Thankfulness, Not Longing

I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel.

--EXODUS 16:12

SAVE our blessings, Master, save

From the blight of thankless eye,

Teach us for all joys to crave

Benediction pure and high,

Own them given, endure them gone,

Shrink from their hardening touch, yet prize them won,

Prize them as rich odors meet

For love to lavish at His sacred feet.

--JOHN KEBLE

NOTHING so hinders us in what we are doing as to be longing after something else; in so doing, we leave off tilling our own field, to drive the plough through our neighbor's land, where we must not look to reap a harvest; and this is mere waste of time. If our thoughts and hopes are elsewhere, it is impossible for us to set our faces steadily towards the work required of us.

--ST. FRANCIS DE SALES

One thing is indisputable: the chronic mood of looking longingly at what we have not, or thankfully at what we have, realizes two very different types of character. And we certainly can encourage the one or the other.

--LUCY C. SMITH

Seek to cultivate a buoyant, joyous sense of the crowded kindnesses of God in your daily life.

Grace to you and peace from God the

Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who

gave Himself for our sins, that He might

deliver us from this present evil age,

according to the will of our God and

Father,

( Galatians 1:3-4 *NKJV )

As you know, no one knows what the future holds for them,

but the Children of God may have peace of mind! Our

Heavenly Father has great plans for our future, not only on

Earth, but in Heaven as well! For; it is written: "Eye has

not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered

into the heart of man The things which God

has prepared for those who love Him.

( 1 Corinthians 2:9 )

Therefore we have no reason to fear the future, for with God

in charge, there is no need to worry about anything! For in

this life when we have heartache and woe, He is always there

to comfort and guide us, and in our next life, we will live with

him in Paradise forever!

No, we cannot imagine all of the wonderful things that God

has planned for our future, but one thing that we may count

on is that the best is yet to come! For I know the

thoughts that I think toward you, says the

LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil,

to give you a future and a hope. Therefore;

There is hope in your future, says the LORD,

( Jeremiah 29:11 ) & ( Jeremiah 31:17 )

So Lorna, have a Wonderful day, and may God's

Great Love, Hope and Faith, fill your heart and mind, and may;

The peace of God, which surpasses all

understanding, guard your heart and mind

through Christ Jesus. Amen.

( Philippians 4:7 )

Becoming More Like Christ

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

--2 CORINTHIANS 4:10

BUT we as in a glass espy

The glory of His countenance,

Not in a whirlwind hurrying by

The too presumptuous glance,

But with mild radiance every hour,

From our dear Saviour's face benign

Bent on us with transforming power

Till we, too, faintly shine.

--JOHN KEBLE

IF we be faithful and humble, God will increase our faith by enabling us to obey more faithfully, and will strengthen our sight by enabling us to do what we now see. As in our daily walk we come nearer towards heaven, He will open to us more of heaven. And so the veil which sin laid upon our sight being taken away, "we all, with open face, beholding, as in a glass, the glory of the Lord," studying His countenance, watching His looks, seeking to have His gracious and compassionate look cast upon us in the midst of our frailties and infirmities, may catch some faint reflections of its brightness, and be changed into the image whereon we gaze, which we love, which, in our weakness, we would long to copy and transfuse into ourselves; we too may be "changed into the same image, from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord."

--EDWARD B. PUSEY
